Chouchous! How have you been? I haven’t posted anything here in a long time, but I did make some new jewelry, which I wanted to show you.
Last time I went back to France I rummaged through my dad’s atelier, and a jar of old brass bolts caught my eyes. As soon as I saw them I knew exactly what I wanted to do with them (the beauty of love at first sight, right?). So here is a vintage brass bolt brooch, ring, and choker lariat.
I found these deliciously corroded beads at the flea market, they were part of a necklace if I remember well. The various levels of corrosion give the beads a very interesting texture. The metal is hard to identify, but I’m guessing it’s an alloy of some kind. And now it’s a stunning new necklace!
I’m quite fond of rhinestones, you need only one to shine bright like a diamond! And the minimal asymmetry will look great on your neck.
Oh yes, I’ve been experimenting with braiding and mixing media. For this necklace, two strands of hemp string, one strand of gold plated chain, with the inclusion of vintage aluminum chain parts all along the necklace. It works very well with beads too!
The last piece I wanted to show you is a black cord choker with vintage brass chain. Quite classy, isn’t it?
Voilà voilà, I hope you enjoyed this small tour of Bijou Caillou’s autumn jewelry box. More to come soon!
